Tip #1: Always Get Dressed For The Day.
I cannot roll out of bed and open my laptop. It wouldn’t feel like a working day! Instead, I get up and I do this…
Tip #2: Follow A Routine
After waking up, I have a morning routine which is as follows.
Wake up > Make a tea > Journal > Shower > Skincare > Make up > Get dressed > Work!
Tip #3: Plan!
I’m not always a morning person and have found that planning my day the night before helps me to start the day right, knowing what my priorities are and what I need to start off with first!
Tip #4: Have A Separate Work Space.
When I first started working from home, I sat at my dining table. I quickly realised I needed a designated workspace. So I converted one of our bedrooms into office space—and it’s the best thing I have done! Having a space where I go to and from work, helps me to separate home and work life. Something that’s so important for healthy boundaries and being able to switch off!
Tip #5: Switch Off!
Whether it’s during the day and you need to take a break and get some fresh air, or at the end of the day when you’ve finished working, switching off is a vital step when working from home. I find that having something that signals the end of a workday helps—for me, that’s closing down my computer and lighting candles around my home—always ensuring the scents are different to the candle I burn for work!
