Examples of Financial Values

I often say to get clear on your money values as it can help provide clarity and guidance to your financial journey. But determining your money values can be hard if you’ve never heard of, or set any previously! Financial values are the things which are most important to you when it comes to money and investing—so to help get you started, here are some examples of the different types...

Financial Security

This value puts a premium on stability, saving, and creating a safety net for yourself to be prepared for any unexpected events.

Learning and Development

This value prioritises an investment in yourself, looking specifically at education, creativity, self-improvement and self-expression to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Financial Independence

For many this value is the dream. Valuing the ability to make choices without being constrained by financial limitations or others. It often includes a frugal aspect to begin with, before striving to build passive income streams to achieve freedom from traditional employment.

Adventure and Exploration

This value prioritises experiences and will see you spending money on building memories through travel, events, and activities that provide novelty and excitement.

Charity and Community

This value is where you spend in ways that align with community consciousness. You could be aligned with building resources for charitable causes, be passionate about giving back through community initiatives or helping with sustainable practices to make a positive impact on society.

Health and Wellness

This is a value that often gets prioritised last, but is just as important as the others! Seeing you prioritise your spending on activities, products, and services that contribute to your physical and mental well-being.

These are some example which I hope help you determine your financial values. Did any resonate? Let me know! xo
